I ahd a friend who invited a female friend to a wedding . It seemed like a very big deal to her? maybe this is in the wrong section .. But as a guy if a girl invited me to a wedding , I trea tit like a social event. But she looked like he almost ask her to commit to him .. Is this just a mal and female differance thing?

it would depend on the relationship that you previously and currently have. If it was just a casual fling with the person inviting you to the weeding, it would not be that much of a deal, and you should go. But if it was a great relationships, it would hurt.. unless of course if at the time you are in an equally great relationship.
So i would say, its not a female/male thing, its more about how deep the relationship was to begin with..
