Hi there...the best way to control shedding is to brush regularly and steer clear of cat foods with the ingredients corn, corn meal and byproducts. Such foods are either Innova, Nature's Variety Prairie, Wellness, Felidae, California Natural...all which can be found at a specialty pet store. These provide higher grade of nutritional needs for all cats including Persians. You'll notice the improvement after a couple weeks of switching to a better quality food.

I have three gourgeous long haired persian cats and not a one of them sheds that much. I brush them atleast 5 times a week and they take care of the rest. You might try bathing them and then brushing their hair after it dries. At first they shed a bunch but after I started brushing, it got way better! Good Luck!

If you share your life with a cat, you know how wonderfully playful, intelligent, independent, and affectionate felines can be. However, you may have some questions about how to care for Fluffy, keep her happy and safe indoors, or identify potential health problems. This section will address these and other issues that face those who enjoy the companionship of a cat.

Sorry to say but no. I also have 4 persians. The best thing to do is comb them alot and you can also give them a bath about once a month. If they don't like the bath I found that taking a wet wash rag and wiping them down good works well. You can also take them to a good groomer and have there coat thinned out. I do that myself. Good Luck.....

There is no medicine for this, all can do is groom them daily to remove dead hair and stop the coats matting, the last thing you want is to have knotts shaved out
