Ana-Maria is lovely! There are lots saints with double-barelled names. In fact if you go to the web address I've posted at the bottom here there are 2 saints listed under the names Anna-Maria. Or if not why not find something that means something significant to you?
My sister took the saints name Cecilia as she is the patron saint of music.
This site gives you an alphabetical list of saints so it might help you. Nearly every girl at my school took Bernadette!!

There's loads on this site but you'll not be short of ideas!Good luck! :-D

My mum wanted Bernadette or Teresa but her mum (my gran) chose "Anne" for her.
I wasn't confirmed in the Catholic church (My mum was a lapsed Catholic by the time I was born) so I didn't get to choose one! Boo!
Ana Maria is very nice, I'm not sure about whether you can have a double barrelled name though - as long as its a Saint's name it should be OK.

There isn't a saint Ana Maria. But there is a saint whose orginal name was Anna Maria (Anna Maria Redi).
Possible problem is that when she became a nun she took the name Teresa Margaret, and so is known as St Teresa Margaret.
You'd need to discuss with your priest whether you can take this name. In my day they were quite strict about it, but it might be easier now.
Here's a link to St Teresa Margaret Redi. Maybe the information on it will help you convince your priest?
Good luck.

Confirmation names are supposed to be a saint's name, so you need to check if your chosen name is. It doesn't matter if it's double-barrelled. I haven't heard of Saint Ana Maria, but there are lots of names to choose from. Think about a saint you feel a bond with. Also think about what your initials will spelll!

I wanted Bernadette but because the very important Cardinal was conducting the ceremony we were all given Mary as well as our choice so I guess two are allowed. So long as you can prove that Ana Maria is a saint that inspires you it should be OK.

You confirmation name should be the name of a particula saint that inspires you. Saint Anne is the mother of Mary....
If you evey decided to follow a vocation to the religious life, you could be Mary Anne...
God bless you!

I'm sure you are allowed double barrelled names, ask your priest to make sure. What about Teresa ? That's a nice catholic name.
