I applied for auto loan on line, a dealer called me back and told me that regardless of my credit score or history that I could get a car. After I arrived I was showed several vehicles that they said they could get me approved for. I chose a 03 GMC Envoy with 25, 558 miles on it. I then was excorted down stairs where I spoke with a manager, who I explained what I wanted in terms of montjly payments and stuff. He asked me how much was I willing to put as a down payment. I said $1,500. He then told my sales person to write the deal up and had me to sign papers. he told me that I was going to be very happy, that he was goignt o perform a miracle and get me approved by a bank. He asked me to leave a deposit to hold the car. I left $100, I came back on that Saturday and left $300. Now the manager says we never had a deal, he won't take my calls and I gave my car back thinking we had a deal. So I don't have my money, a car or anything What should I do.

File a complaint with your states Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Office. If he did it to you he probably did it to a bunch of others and they can get evidence to raise hell with the dealership.

Actually, I am trying to figure a few things out... You say you want to sue for false advertising, but in your question, you haven't mentioned any advertising. A salesman telling you something isn't advertising, it's trying to get a chance to get you approved on a car that evidently you don't have the credit to buy. As to giving your car back, maybe you should have waited until they let you take posession of the new one. They got a deposit to hold it, but didn't have enough faith in your credit score to spot the delivery, which means let you drive off the lot while approval is still pending. In addition, if you signed the papers and said you had $1500 for a down payment, what is this $100 and $300 stuff? It sounds to me like maybe you didn't have $1500 down and were trying to make payments on the down payment. It's really simple as far as this goes.... if you lie about cash on hand for a down payment, why would a bank trust you to make payment on the multiple thousands you'd owe for the Envoy? My advice is to go into the dealership, ask nicely for your deposit back, and chalk the rest up as a learning experience. As far as litigation is concerned, sounds like you have no case. In fact, sounds like what you did for the downpayment is what most lawyers call fraud.

Your credit is so poor that you could not get financed. It was even stated that getting you approved would be a miracle! How is that the dealers fault? Trust me he wanted to sell you the car . This is not false advertising. He just didn't want you to go shopping and have everyone under the sun look at your credit and drop your score anymore than it currently is.Do you have something in writing stating that you were approved? He gave you your old trade and deposit back. If you paid your bills, you would not be in that situation. Learn your lesson and move on.

Anybody with any credit can get approved. That is not false advertising nor is it a lie. If you put 20000 down on a 23000 car, someone will finance you regardless of your credit. Ask him for you money back, that he will do.

You are the credit criminal, and it's not the dealers fault. He wants to sell you a car more than you want to buy it.

Contact your attorney general. Fax them a copy of the Purchase and sales agreement front and back. If you do not have this form you may be up a creek without a paddle.

it sounds like you have a credit issue, do you know your credit score?. Dealers don't ever not want to sell cars, if you could be financed you would be driving your new car. Do you have a signed contract?
In the loan business their is no miracle only credit scores and loan values.
move on
