Why where the cities of Sodom and Gomorra detroyed, and where is the verse to back-up your answer?

Genesis 13:13

13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.

Genesis 19:4-13

4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them."

6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, "No, my friends. Don't do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."

9 "Get out of our way," they replied. And they said, "This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! We'll treat you worse than them." They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.

12 The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, 13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."


Basically they were all homosexuals and God burned them to the ground.

The towns of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because it was filled with Homosexuals.

Look at Genesis chapter 19 and read it all for yourself.

God is totally against the sin of sex : man with man, and woman with woman. Also sex without being married.

The Bible says in Leviticus chapter 18, verse 22:
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Leviticus chapter 20, verse 13: it states,
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Also read for yourself Romans chapter 1, verses 18 thru 32.

If you don't get the picture after that then you just don't want to, but yet and still it won't change the facts and laws of God.

The Cities of Sodom and Gomorra were destroyed because their people committed the prohibited acts of gays and lesbians. God sent his messengers to LUTH and they informed him to leave the twon with his followers, but his wife will be left behind.

They left early in the morning and they were ordered not to look back, only his wife looked back and has been subject to what happened to the cities people. God rained them with stone and turned the area upside down over them. This area now is known as the DEAD SEA and it is salty that no forms of life can appear there.

Because they were exceedingly wicked before the Lord. See Genesis 13:13. You may ask, why doesn't God destroy all the cities on the Earth, since they are all exceedingly wicked? Read Isaiah 1:9,10 - because the Remnant - God's people - are still here. Otherwise, He would.
