My ding-a-ling doberman is such a Mama's dog that she completely ignores my husband if I'm around. He'll say, "Sit" and she'll look at me like, "Do I have To?"
I also had a rott like Pamela, that was spoiled to death and wouldn't hurt a flea!

Sounds like a typical Whippet, which are great dogs. Except being scared of other dogs. I know it's late, but can't you socialize him?Perhaps he is simply tempermentally submissive? Let him play with other dogs daily in a park. Get another whippet. Whippets are wonderful.

I have a 110 pound Akita that whimpers and cries when I go out the door. He will sit by the door and moans "oh mooommmaaa" when I leave or come back. He also tries to sit on my lap- not an easy task at his weight. He thinks he is big and tough(as long as no one is around) but his claim to fame is all the kittens he has adopted and rainsed.

Im fostering a St Bernard about a year old. The only enquiries on her are from people that had been brokeninto and wants a dog to deter people. Well I have denied them cause she will help them get in. She runs and tries to get on my lap when someone knocks on the door.

yes and her name is Lexus, she is a 90 lb rottweiler that does not know that she is a 90 ld rottweiler. If i have to scold her about anything she will lay down and look up at me with her big brown eyes and it makes me feel so bad that i apologise to her!!!
i will go get her a treat and everything. she likes to sit in my lap but i have to make her sit beside me with her head in my lap. my male likes to put his head on my knee so that i can scratchhis ears. they are my babies and i love them so much it aggravates me that some people think that they are dangerous viscious dogs.

My Chihuahua is that way. She does not let anyone touch me. She hates any dog touching me but she is afraid of most dogs and noises. She is afraid of men. She licks me when I get on to her and is spoiled rotten! I love her to death.
