Hi, I'm doing a report on advertising, and I need the opinions of business owners who have used various advertising methods.

The mediums I'm focusing on are: newspaper, television, direct mailings, magazines, radio, and internet ads (keyword, banner, pop-up, etc).

If you could tell me what has and hasn't worked for you, that would be really helpful!

Or if you know of people who have used any of these methods and had success or failure, tell me about it.

I need lots of opinions! The more the better!

Thank you so much for all your help!

PS: It's really important for me to have opinions on all the mediums I mentioned, so if you have any experience with any of them, please let me know about it!

Hi.. i think for the local places the best choice is through magazines, newspaper, or the brochures...
for more wide area or even worldwide.. the best choice is throught internet..especially with the banner on the big sites like yahoo, google.. but of course it will cost a lot...
In my experience using the pop-up wasn't good, coz many people feel bother with the pop-up and they will close it without read it.. so better to find another "polite" advertise medium..
hope it can help you baby.. good luck

Wow, it's amazing how many people don't read the question, then don't answer the question.

I am a business owner. I have used these methods: direct mailings, internet ads (keyword). I've also used other methods that were very successful, but you didn't ask about those.

Direct mail: very good for followup to people who have indicated interest. Have not successfully used direct mail to "cold mail" a list of suspects, despite several tries.

Internet ads - keyword - very good for lead generation but you have to be very careful about keyword tracking and lead nurturing.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like more info.

Direct Mailings, is the Best and cost effective, where as
Internet Ads like Spots, Banner, Pop-up, are more irritating and costly. However, Own Website (complete URL) is effective and economical.

Hello Amy,

I know that many people, including myself have been using content rich websites to advertise their business. Search engines look for sites with good, up to date content. The main idea is to get search engines such as Google and Yahoo to recognize the site, thus helping with the page ranking. A good way to help with the content of the site is to provide a blog, rss feed and have good articles written.

If you are looking to pay for advertising, Google adwords is an avenue that people are having success with.

I hope this helps!
