What is a concence? And can you not have one? Becouse my mom says I'm heartless and I dont have one.

it's conscience, and yes you have one. i think that people like murderers don't have a conscience, but if you do something wrong and you feel bad about it, that is your conscience. your mom is just being mean or trying to prove a point. did you do something wrong and not feel bad about it? no worries, though, whatever it is i'm sure you're not heartless. that's just impossible. even murderers have a heart, it's just pointing them down the wrong path. good luck

Your mom means a conscience. Its sorta of not a nice thing for a mom to say, but given its been said perhaps you need to think about if you are acting in a way that would make her feel you are heartless and do not have a conscience.

Conscience means a sense of right or wrong. This is something you NEED to function in the world. A lot of us develop a conscience through faith and others through our parents or other family members.

To put it simply....if you beat up a younger defenseless child on the play ground just for the "fun of it"...you would be heartless and have no sense or right or wrong.

UH- OH, what did you do? You must have done something REALLY bad to make your mom that mad at you. I'm going to ask you some questions and these questions should clarify whether or not you have a 'conscience'.
1. Do you know the difference between right and wrong?
2. Would you purposly say/do something to hurt someone/something?
3. Do you feel remorse when you DO hurt someone?

If you know the difference between right and wrong and basically don't get a rats patoody whether your actions/words hurt anyone, then yes, I would probably agree that you don't have a conscience. If what you say/do DOES affect you, then you clearly have a conscience. Your mom was probably just mad at you. Better think about what you did and revisit the situation with her. Like all moms, she loves you and she is just hurt.

I believe your mother is saying to you that what ever you did or siad was done in an selfish way without taking in to consideration how it would affect those around you.
You must have a conscience in order to feel bad.
It would appear you're mother's take on this is you don't care about anyone but yourself.

I am very sure you have a conscience.........If you did not have one you would not care if you had one.....OK....That was confusing.....A conscience is the little voice in your head that tells you right from wrong.....And tries to keep you from being naughty and hurting others.....And yes......It is possible not to have one....I don't think BTK or Charles Manson have one....They don't feel bad when they do bad things.....And you must feel bad or you would not care what your mom thinks....I think your mom just thinks your being mean and would appreciate you being a little bit nicer.....And I know you can do that.....Especially for your mom.....She loves you!

A conscience is when you almost do something and stop because it begins to bother you, or after you do it, you are bothered by the fact that you did do it. We were born with it. It is what makes us a better human being. We can continue to do things wrong and lose it and lose the feelings we have.
