Why do people think so badly of Hooters?

I mean all your doing is waitressing.....it's not like people get up on the bar in strip. I just recently starting working there as part time job for some extra money till I finish school and everyone is either in school or they do it for a part time job. I mean the girls are beautiful and are intelligent and not everyone has fake or big boobs

to the question about how I feel about strippers: I personally would never do it but I'm not going to knock anybody else for it

Some people think it's degrading, I guess. I don't see how, the uniforms really aren't that provactative and it's only waitressing.

Even the menu has literacy problems.

I don't mean that as an insult to you, but it doesn't do anything for the image, and reinforces some less-than-fortunate stereotypes pretty well.

Come on. "Curley" fries? Quotation marks used for emphasis? There's some awkward sentence construction, and bad punctuation, too.

Never mind that it looks disgusting; it's a bit like the children's page in a normal chain restaurant.

The couple of "Hooters" that were in my city have closed down after not too many years, and I note that in the time they were here, nobody -- on a popular site with reviews of well over a thousand restaurants, including fast food joints -- bothered to consider it a restaurant. Nobody's pretending it's about the food.

"I mean all your (sic) doing is waitressing....." Those are some incredibly slutty "uniforms." The waitresses have swapped dignity for money, though, which aligns it with strip clubs even if it isn't one, and there isn't any way to get around that.

That said, do you have a problem with strippers?

I've never had an intelligent waitress at Hooters. I love their wings and oysters, so I eat there often with friends, but I have never known any of the servers to be "intelligent". Oh, and I do agree about the boobs. I've seen a lot of them working there lately with very small breasts- and not all of them attractive.

Well I Love to eat at Hooters and I agree with you about the girls.....not all of them have boobs and some have nice butts too but overall I think the fat jealous women get mad if there men go here cause there man is looking at these chicks.....its that simple!!! Most of the girls are very intelligent and have great personalities that match there beauty....it comes down to poor reputation from goody two shoes that protest everything and anything...I recently took my 13 yr old son to enjoy the grub and sights for his b-day....he blushed and smiled when they came over to sing for him.....its a not just a man thing...lots of family and women go there too...By the way I dated a couple of wild girls from Hooters and I have to say yummmy!!!!

I don't know, I've never thought badly of Hooters, but I know a lot of women & men who do. I also don't have issues with strip clubs so... maybe I'm an exception to the rule? Hooters is just a restaurant, the fact they hire attractive girls to work there is just smart business to get guys in there.

Hey, the only time I've been to a hooters was with my wife and we had a nice lunch. Our waitress was from England and we had a nice talk with her also. But people do like to exaggerate and things get blown out of proportion (which probably doesn't bother the hooters owners much, it's free publicity).

Hooters will wind up in the history books just like the Playboy clubs - Poor service, Poor food and Poor management will send Hooters there. Waitresses can do better in places other than Hooters.

I do not know, I like the place, good food, good service, and most of the waitresses are very easy on the eyes. Why is that a problem? It's not like prostitution or anything, it's just a restaurant catering towards straight men.

The only people I think that have a bad portray are individuals that are not secure of themselves. I think it is a great eating establishment. My brother in law is manager at one, and the girls are all young students trying to make a few extra bucks for college living. Besides they sponsor alot of good causes as well.

It's not that I think badly of Hooters. I just don't like eating somewhere and feel bad about myself cause I don't have that chest after 4 kids. LOL Well I still have the chest, mind you, they just aren't exactly saluting the sun anymore. So for me it's depressing. :) but hubby and boys like it, LOL, so if I must go I do.
