The day after my brother died, I had dozed off. When I woke up (30 minutes later) it was because I kept hearing his name going through my head with the Garth Brooks song "If Tomorrow Never Comes" playing in the background. We got into a bad fight the last time I had seen him and I never told him I was sorry. The day he died, I was on my way to see him before I went to my own house. I called first and woke him up, so I let him go back to sleep. Any other time I would have gone over anyway. This is the ONLY time I had let him go back to sleep.
My point is, we all feel guilt for one thing or another when a loved one passes away. It is natural. I believe when I woke up from the song "If Tomorrow Never Comes" my brother was trying to tell me that he knew it was just an argument, that I was still his big sister, and he still loved me. I'm crying now. I believe that messages can be passed from the other side. I smelled him a couple different times, weeks after he had been buried. I wasn't anywhere near his personal stuff, but I still smelled him. As for why your family dislikes you so much, I can't say. All I can say is to talk to them. I'm sorry for your loss. Things will get easier over time.

Yes Im sure she did come and hold your hand, And yes she does understand all that happend in the family. Im sure she still loves you very much and would not want to see you suffer with feelings of guilt. So take comfort in the fact that those we love never really leave us, and just make the most of your life. God bless you.

She will always love you, and I'm sure she'll understand why everything happened the way it did...
She'll come and hold your hand everytime you're scared, lonely and feeling blue. You're lucky, in that sense!

If all of that happened, your mom probably did come to hold your hand to let you know that it is OK, you don't have to feel guilty. My Uncle was just telling us yesterday that his wife who died in May came to visit him and that he missed her but felt comforted. So out of love, your mom may have visited you to let you know all is well.
