I like him, he likes me. But he likes to mess around. and i dont know what to do. But he knows i like him, and he told me he likes me. Im sure he'd stop messing around if he had a gf, but i dont know if he wants a girlfriend. and he's cheated before, but the last time was a year ago.

Ask him out. If he wants a girlfriend and he likes you, well, he'll accept.
Just be weary that he just might cheat. It is a possibility. If it's meant to be it'll happen, if it's not, well, prepare yourself now....

Come on to him and see how he responds. Just take it as far as you want to go and if he doesn't like it then tell him to go home. wait for him to call you back which he will and then tell him how you feel and why you told him to go home. if he doesn't want anything extra then just be friends.

if you really like him, why don't you ask him out, and tell him his messing around bothers you, and if he breaks up with you, you'll always find someone better!!
