I don't believe that people dislike them nor refuse to consider them as citizens a least not in my life, community and my surroundings. Atheists are real people just like those who are religious but unfortunately some come across intolerant and I've only noticed it in this section and on this site. Not in the real world and the ones that I have relationships with.

I don't dislike a person simply because they are atheist. And I do consider them real citizens. They're just wrong.

I've been a Christian for over 20 years. I don't dislike all atheists. I only have a problem with the ones that come onto this site and start insulting and slamming me because I love the Lord. Everyone has a choice of what to believe, and if they choose that, that's up to them. I don't go to their sites and slam them, it's as if they go looking for troiuble over here.

Even the most religious person dislikes people that are different from them.

The the first person "Justin" that answered, Athiest don't believe in Satan either. Higher or Lower Power does not exist to them.

I don't like or dislike Athiest. You have to know one first and as far as I know, I don't.

I think people mistrust atheists because they perceive them to be without morals. I mean if someone thinks there is no higher authority than themselves, then there is nothing to keep them in check. I believe it was Immanuel Kant who said that without a God, there is no morality because everything boils down to someone's personal choice.

I don't think people refuse to consider them citizens though... I don't understand where you are coming from with that one.

I'm not overly religious, but I do have my own belief system that definitely includes God. I don't dislike Atheists - to each his or her own. I don't like it when Atheists belittle religious people for their beliefs, though - I've been told that I'm a fool, that I'm gullible, etc.

I DO get pretty ticked off at Michael Newdow and Atheists that demand the rest of the country cater to their lack of beliefs. How do you feel about the words, "Under God" on our money? Is it really so offensive? If so, why?

I don't dislike Atheists, I just feel for them. To not have a sense of spiritual beliefs is shocking to me.

Because they disagree with many people. Those people can't stand the fact that atheists are right.Atheists and agnostics have more control of their minds. They've been told the same things as christians but weren't brainwashed like christians have been.

Most people I know don't dislike atheists. Although I'm sure it happens.

Atheists are people like everyone else, they just have a belief that there are no gods.
