I have that same problem. I don't really know why but I can tell you what I do so that I don't fall asleep. If I take 2 pills, like the box recommends, I zonk out. So I tried cutting the dose in half. That seems to work fine for me. I think it all depends on how bad your cold is to be honest. I have tried a holistic approach to this problem as well. If you can find liquid echinachea and put 2-3 drops of it into an 8 oz. glass of orange juice, you may feel better.
It worked for me when I tried it. And there's no medicine head feeling with echinachea. Good luck to you. I hope this helps you out.

Because your still sick and and that wares your body down. Plus there are other factors whats the weather like did u sleep the night b4, what are you eating, or what type of cold you have? Theres all sorts of factors.

yes it make you sleepy because sudafed contains an active substance that has a side effect. you not driving

I don't know, but a lot of "non-drowsy" meds still make me sleepy.

I was told that any allergy medicine makes you drowsy. Most of it says it won't but it does.
