Amoxicillin didn't work very well! But this stuff is after a couple days!

Clavulanic acid may be added to Amoxicillin to increase Amoxicillin's spectrum against Staphylococcal bacteria. This is what Clavomox is, amoxicillian with clavulanic acid added to it.

your kitten probably needed the extra boost to fight this infection, that's why it worked so well.

I don't know what Clavomox is, but I do know that Amoxicillin doesn't work immediately, it needs to be given regularly and kept up until all of the infection is over.

Even better than clavomox is doxycycline.

JR...we tend NOT to use doxycycline in kittens.
Clavamox is great for a lot of things...sometimes it doesn't work, but mostly it is effective.
