My partner and I work in the morning and see each other at night. Is calling each other once or twice while on breaks at work the norm?

Well it depends... Who's calling who... ?Are you doing more calling or is he doing more...? If he calls you more, ask yourself if you think it is getting too much or do you enjoy his calls... If your calling more than him then thats another story, it may show that your more interested or have more free time than him... If it's 50/50 then I suppose it's mutual and you both have a desire to speak to each other... I do think it's important communicate but if you see each other every day then maybe you dont need to call more than once unless it's really important, after all you don't want to end up getting bored of each other.. Just keep it balanced don't go overboard and don't neglect each other keep it balanced...

I don't think it's a problem. There's nothing wrong with checking in and seeing how the other's day is going unless you have a problem with it. Me and my bf talk everyday b/c we don't get a chance to see each other until the weekends. And even when we do get a chance to see each other, we're still talking for like 8 hours during the day, and still more when we hang out, and then when we get home that night. So it's all about what you're comfortable with. There's no norm when you're in love and everyone is happy with the way things are.

there's no "norm" that you have to follow to make you relationship better. thats a myth. the best guide about calls is to value your partners time. just call enough to fan the fires and spark the excitement, not to find out what he's doing or if he's thinking about you. if you call him to tell him you read or saw something, plus you tell him how it relates to the relationship (eg., "hey, i read about chocolate dipped strawberries on yahoo! i have a surprise for you later") you bet he's gonna be thinking about you all day. its annoying to call when you really have nothing to say, or prolong the call after youve said the reason for your call, in the hopes that he's gonna tell you sweet nothings for the next 3 hours while he's at work. keep the lines of communication open, and be spontaneous and surprise each other, but dont think you have to fill a phone quota of a certain number of minutes for the day.

I think it's nice to chat for 2 or 3 minutes in the middle of the day. I love hearing my man's voice in the midst of a hectic work schedule.

My hubby and I always talk at least once during the day while we are at work. Its nice to hear each others voices. Its a little afternoon pick-me-up.

Yep, that's about normal. But that also depends on how much time you spend talking and if thier workplace allows cellular calls, how busy, special circumstances regarding meetings or clients coming in, etc.

I was brought up that you never call anyone at work, even your spouse, unless it is an emergency, and I have always followed that. We don't ever call each other unless its very important.

Yes and i think that's really thoughtfully of both of you that you'll keep in touch with eachother through the day like that. I think that is so sweet.
