Don't rely on the Internet for information unless you are certain of it's accuracy and have the skill to interpret it. Read the product leaflet and discuss this with the doctor and or pharmacist.
Some side effects of this drug are common and transient, some side effects are life threatening but incredibly rare.
No one can tell you based on the information supplied if you should take it or not. If you are under 18yrs then it should only be prescribed by a specialist (in UK) and often counselling or other SSRIs would be tried first.
If adult, then in UK drug treatment usually tried first. SSRIs are the drug class I would want to take if I had to take any.
Counselling is not as cost effective - sorry.

It's true that most medication have side effects and similarly cipramil has numerous side effects but I m sure your doctor consider all those factor prior to prescribing these meds. It's down to you how you feel about taking it but combination of counselling and medication is presumably better than any of them alone. If you are in UK you could access PRODIGY website which will be able to offer more, also try www.besttreatments.co.uk/btuk/home.html.

Unfortunately, depending on where you live, counselling can take up to 12 months to get an appointment. I have been taking Cipramil for a while for anxiety and I don't have many problems with them at all - it is such a relief not to be anxious all the time. I agree that the symptoms of coming of these drugs are bad, but I think these are outweighed by the benefits. It's up to you whether you take them, but they definitely work.

Every form of medication has some sort of side effect, aspirin, Paracetamol. It may have only been one person experienced these side effects during drug trials but manufacturers will list these as a side effect. I would advise you to speak to a medical proffessional rather than seek advice from people on the 'net'. Advice might be well meant but could end upcausing you more problems. All the best.

how long have you had anxiety for ? and how bad is it ? is it specific related anxiety or generalised anxiety ? you should go back to your doctor with your concerns and iron out any fears of taking the meds , but a dr usually knows what they are talking about and has your best interests at heart , after all he didnt have to prescribe you anything , but your symptoms are that they prob require some med help x

If you only take one maybe once a week or once every two weeks you will not become addicted.
You will only become addicted if you are taking 4-5 a day - and that is a very bad idea (I'm sure you wouldn't do it anyway!) :)
Good luck - if you think the good outweighs the bad, you should take them. If not, then rethink the whole thing. I don't take them personally, but I do take Oxycontin every other day or so for some excruciating pain in my knee - for me, the good outweighs the bad chances of addiction. It's a decision you can make on your own.

I would think that the way doctors are today, councelling is the last thing they would get for you, if you can be treated by meds then thats what they will do. You could always ask your doctor to refer you to a councellor as you will feel more comfortable with it.
If you don't feel comfortable taking these tablets ask your doctor to change them for you.

Don't take it, or else your family will be suing the company and your doctor for the loss of a loved one. Doctors all too often prescribe without really analysing, as if they want to get you out of their hair as soon as possible. Go see a therapist first.

Discuss it with your doctor if you feel that you shouldn't take it, but DO NOT take advice from anyone on the internet.
