I am a very non-traditional person. I also am very fair-skinned and look awful in the color white. We are having a contemporary non-denominational wedding service outside.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore black to her wedding and it worked for her. The bride doesn't have to consult anyone on two things in her wedding - her gown and her colors. I don't think you'll be able to find a gown with a train, but since it's outside, you might not want one. You could order extra fabric when you order your gown and a good seamstress could make you a train. I'm not sure if you're aware of the fact that some wedding gowns come in red. You can get a train without making it to order. Although I say if black is your color go for it.

Well, It depends what kind of black dress. If it is dressy looking with maybe a patern or a nice shape to it and if it's not too long than it would be okay. If you are going to wear that black dress, dont wear a belt with it, it might be "over doing it". What you should do it get very outgoing or silver jewelry, with an elegent necklace and get open toed high-heels, and/or closed toe pointed high-heals. i hope I'v halped you!good luck hint hint-for your make-up, don't wear dark colors, tryy going with the light/pale colors like light grey/silver with a mettalic white just where you eyebrow ends and your eye lid starts. -Gabby

Black would be okay for the maids dresses but not the bridal gown. And you being fair skinned you will look goth, unless that's the look you are going for.
You could choose a white & black dress. I just performed a wedding like this. The back of the gown was accented with black. The maid's dresses were black with white sashes.

Or choose a color dress at compliments your skin's undertones, which is either blue or yellow.

Well lets see....I guess it depends on what kind of personality u have and what the wedding theme is going to be. Black is not a bad color. Most people think so because it shows death or whatever. but if you wear a black wedding dress try to add some white....:)

Well I have never seen an all black wedding dress made but Ive seen black dresses with other colors incorporated with the dress. But since its non denominational I guess its okay.

Its your wedding so you can wear what you want to wear. If you are having outside however I would reccommend maybe a darker color like a blue, or purple, or even a green. As someone else said the choice is 100% yours but don't do something that you may regret later.

if you are fair skinned than why in the world would you want to wear black? The black will make you look very gothic and extremely pale. I would stick with a white dress or you can try a champagne colour and with some hints of black in the dress.

It's your day, do what you want. I only wish to tell you to be careful though. Don't wear something that you may regret later. There are a lot of choices out there to pick from. Why not go try on dresses? Not necessarily at a wedding shop, but try somethings on. You might be pleasantly surprised with what you find!

I saw that on a soap opera once...i nearly fell out laughing. It just seemed like a funeral. If you don't look good in white how about a champaign or really off white color? But if black is what you want, it's your wedding. :) congrats

It sounds like your not a non-traditional person, but someone that craves attention. Wearing black will get you that attention.

If you have very light skin then think of going to a spray on tanning place or tan a little in some way. You'll love the way it looks and you won't have to act like your going to a funeral. good luck.
