I bartend at a restaurant and there is a girl there who is rude to everyone including me. She always has some snotty comment and she thinks she is better than everyone. I really hate confrontation but I hate working with her and her rudeness. My blood starts to boil just seeing her there when I walk in the door. What should I do about the work b*tch?

I agree with most of the first answer given. You can try ignoring her but there may come a time when you need to speak up for yourself. True, people like this most likely will not change but some times they do need to be "told." In some cases it's considered harassment. This is your job too. It's not like being back in high school where most of the time if you ignore the bully they'll go away. You shouldn't have to put yourself out and quit because of one other person. It's a hassle trying to find another job and it also causes unneeded hardship.

I've had to deal some people like this and I don't like confrontation myself but sometimes you reach a point where enough is enough!

I'm lucky, I really do have a great boss and I've gone to her before in times of need. I'm not sure what yours is like but maybe try talking to him/her about it. If this person is making these comments infront of costumers that's not good for business and he/she would want to know about it. Also, if she's rude to her co-workers how is she treating the people she's serving?

if she's a b*tch, there's probably nothing you could say or do to change that. imo, there's no sense in getting yourself worked up over someone who's not going to change. confronting her may just cause even more unnecessary drama that you don't need or want. what i would do is just tune her out, ask to be scheduled when she's not working or get a new job.

There is a protocol that you can use

1) Talk to the manager - he has to do something about this in accordance with the employment regulations

2) Make an official complaint

3) If applicable, talk to the police.

Because you have so many witnesses to give evidence against her; there is no escape for her if she starts to deny it.

I agree not to hold it in, as it will cause you undue stress that may eventually effect your rest and your health. (been there, and done that!) I agree to confront her, but if you think it will do nothing but cause more problems, I agree on going to upper management. However, I do suggest telling them you'd like to keep the complaint anonymous, as she may retaliate if she knows where it came from. (also, been there, done that!) If at all possbile, try to change your schedule to work on days she's not there, if management is willing to cooperate with this idea, or if it's feasible.

Best of luck, and if worse comes to worse, try looking elsewhere, as no job is worth your health! (Unfortunately, keep in mind, there's always at least ONE at every job.)

it's not healthy for you to constantly suppress your negative feelings you have for her...yet it's a tricky situation since you are coworkers and need to maintain a professional image...
...people can only treat you in a way which you ALLOW them to treat you......i think you need to confront her (not in an emotional way)...just say something like "i expect to be treated with the same respect i give you"
....or go to your supervisor and let him/her know that her attitude is affecting you and some of the other workers

Have you considered taking a beer bottle to the back of her head?

Not your style? then maybe either ignore her, kill her with kindness, slash her tires, or sabatage her work to get her canned.
