He was Jewish and most people wouldn't know a Jewish person if they were standing right in front of them.
I've meet blonde hair blue eyed Jews, most of them blend in with all the other white people. Most do have dark hair though, but not dark skinned. And if they are any at all it's very slight like a tan.

Because most of us take to something more familiar. I have been given tracts where Jesus is very African looking by people of African decent....I personally think he is darker skinned with coarse black hair..you know ...Mediterranean....but what do I know... but I still think my answer may be correct...we tend to identify with someone who looks more like us and since Anglo influences were more predominant for many years...there you go..by the way...who cares...He is still Jesus, no matter about his appearance.

Good question! I've always thought of Him as having been of a Middle Eastern cast, myself. Dark, curly hair, deep-set brown eyes...
Maybe it's because the popular image of Jesus was invented by Europeans.

Because he has always been painted in a pale color. Common sense would tell you that if he is of middle eastern descent he is not white(key word:common sense). It doesn't make any difference what color he is because he does not see color, only your heart....

i have no idea how the idea of Jesus (pbuh) being white ever came to this world ......... i don't think there's the slightest chance that he was
also, i heard the other day that most christians do not see him as skin-white but rather present him as such to symbolise his white heart (it does make sense, but i still think it's silly to present him as white)

He was born in Palestine, right? Not in Europe!
He should be a middle-eastern tan

If Jesus was born in Israel, like Christians believe, then he would be darker-skinned, not white. I'm Catholic, but I'm not an uptight asshole. :-)
