I agree that Gimp is equivalent to Photoshop.
If you need Photoshop, why dont you download the trial version??

You will be able to use the software for about 1 month and by then you can decide whether you want to buy it, replace it with a freeware programme or whatever

The Gimp is legal freeware and equivelant to Photoshop 7. You may need the manual, you can get one second hand from Amazon Marketplace.
And there's a couple of vector drawing programs as well.

Do you mean Photoshop CS2 or Photoshop Elements? I don't know what version CS2 is on, but the latest version of Elements is 5.0.

I'd say use gimp. photoshop is licsenced and illegal to get without purchasing. go here for gimp, http://www.gimp.org it works on both linux and windows and is very comparable to photoshop. i've used gimp for years now and will NEVER leave it for another. plus hey...its FREE

leagally? just about nowhere.
you would have to steal it from some online detabase or hack it from a friend. all very dangerous stuff.

i suggest you just buy it.
