Mr. Kick - I don't. Here's a defining moment for PBF and why I don't consider him great. Mayweather Jr. vs. Jose Luis Castillo I.
He lost that fight, showed he could be feinted and slowed down with an effective body attack, and was still given the decision. Although I don't always agree with Harold Lederman, his scoring for the HBO PPV telecast was spot on. He scored it 116-111 for Castillo. Only in Vegas. Why do you think his opponents have been hand picked since his two fights with Castillo? You know the answer.
Another defining moment is when he turned down 8 million to fight Margarito. Floyd is vulnerable. Floyd knows he is so badly vulnerable he's willing to turn down that kind of money to fight a hand picked opponent. I know some people are gonna say that Goosen got Floyd 8 mil to fight Baldomir but that was after Floyd and his camp cried about it. Food for thought, Arum was the one who tried to put the Margarito fight together. Guess who doesn't promote fights for Floyd anymore? Arum.
The fight he should take? The most realistic one out there for him is Margarito. I think Oscar is permanently retired, and could Mosley make the weight? He'd have to drop down from Jr. Middle, I guess that's possible, but not probable. Floyd would never go up to Jr. Middle to fight Shane, too tough a fight. He hasn't brought his punching power up with him as he has moved up in weight. Mosley would be too dangerous at Jr. Middle because of his hand and foot speed.

It's hard to argue with his accomplishments so far in his career. He has beaten some good fighters(Corrales, Castillo, Judah, Baldomir, Gatti, etc.) but can you call any of those guys great fighters? I think to be considered a great fighter you have to beat other great fighters. But Floyd is definitely the best fighter of his era. I think he has a little more work to do before you can compare him to the all time greats like Robinson, Ali, Leonard, Duran, and fighters of that magnitude. Maybe if he cleans up the rest of the welterweight division and beats guys like Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito and then beats Mosley and De la Hoya. If he does all that before he retires, then you have to include him in the all-time greats. Right now he's the best fighter in the sport no matter what the haters say.

Floyd Mayweather honestly drained to strive against Shane Mosley two times once in 1999 and 2006. Now that Shane Mosley's occupation is coming to an end he's attempting more durable to make a strive against with Mayweather because he's familiar with its a wide payday. opportunities are severe Floyd will strive against the winner of Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto. As of today i am going to assert he's between the most suitable combatants of this era, yet until eventually he beats the winner of Pacquio-Cotto i won't be able to assert he's the finest of his era.

Mr Kick ~
Floyd Mayweather is a good fighter and that's it, he comparable to Pernell Whitaker. People here in this forum, like above mention "Floyd's undefeated" so his current Heavyweight "Champion" Valuev, he has more wins than Floyd, would they consider him great?
The Great fighters names are already reserved and Floyd's not one of them. Every Great fighter from Ali to Duran all fought fighters that were a legitimate threat to them and their titles and they beat the fighters. Floyd only fights the fights that he knows he can win, seriously, what threat was Judah? Gatti? Baldomir? The Baldomir fight was such a joke they (The Promoters) had to think of something to sell this fight so they came up with "Baldomir has a chin like Granite" never mind the fact that he was slow, he has no punch, he has no movement, he has no speed and Oh yeah, He is NO threat.
Floyd has to step out of his comfort zone to even be considered to Great. He's his biggest fan, he will tell any one that will listen "How Great he is" The public's not buying it anymore they only sold 8,000 tickets at his last fight in a arena that holds over 16,000.

I would consider Floyd as one of the greatest ever at around 135. He demolished a very good Corrales and the Castillo rematch showed who was better.
I don't think he really can say he is a top 147 lber. The welterweights don't have any super fighters right now. I can think of many fighters at 147 who would have beat Floyd easily such as Leonard, Hearns, Curry, Duran, Kid Gavilian, Robinson etc.
Floyd doesn't have great fights to make right now other than Oscar.

I'm glad you asked this question, general consensus would say Margarito...but honestly there is no one on Mayweather's level right now..De La Hoya would get embarrassed...I personally would like to see him fight Sugar Shane
Remember he beat Baldomir with one hand which he hurt early in the fight, I noticed that before the announcers did....and he still did not lose 1 round in the fight. He didn't throw one right hand after the 6th round...y'all can hate on Mayweather but there is no one out there right now that can beat him...Period. You don't have to like him because he is an asshole, but you better respect him. UNDISPUTED..POUND FOR POUND THE BEST FIGHTER IN THE WORLD...and if you think different, then you don't know boxing....PERIOD

I'd say De La Hoya, Margarito, retirement? Definitely the cream of today's crop. Time will tell his all-time greatness. I'd say, so far, so good. Hall-of-fame, no doubt at all.
