Broccoli is a garden vegetable that is closely related to cauliflower. The kind of broccoli that is grown in America originally came from southern Europe, and is called Italian broccoli. Most of the broccoli that you see in the super markets is grown in California near the coastline of Monterey, Salinas, Holister. The soil is much like that in Italy where it is easily grown with cool night temperatures and sunny days year round.
