Wash your hands a lot because that is the chief way cold virus is transmitted. (i.e. the rhinovirus, and picorna virus family of bad actors). What happems is you pick up the virus by touching another erson or item they have just touched and the virus is transferred. That is no problem if we wash our hands frequently. But the virus is transferred into our bodies whne we touch our mouths, eyes, nose etc. We do that many times a day. Start making a mental note every time you do that and keep an accounting of those moves. You will be amased. I was.
Also, being in good physical condition and having plenty of good sleep, and rest helps. So does taking vitamin with mineral tablets daily.get a physical check up you may (very unlikely), have an immunodeficiency problem.
Make sure your children wash their hands thoroughly after having a bowel movement, or afte you change a diaper.
Hand washing is the main defensive measure.
Good luck,
Doc. Dan.

I found I was more susceptible to getting sick if I was sedentary, I have been working out and swimming in the last yr and only have gotten sick once and when I felt something coming I just got lots of sleep and it passed me by. Good Luck being sick really does suck..and if you smoke .stop!!!!!!

load up on healthy foods. get plenty of sleep. drink lots of water -I mean lots!

you can also try a vitamin c and zinc supplement. also try elderberry syrup. its taste great and can help prevent viral illness. mangos are also anti-viral. when you eat an orange, eat the white pithy stuff - there is lots of vitamin c in it. over time your immune system should build up so that you don't catch as much stuff from the little ones.

good luck

You may want to visit your doctor for a check up and flu shot
Beyond that, wash your hands frequently
