According to about.com it -is- one of a few things you can use to speed up your metabolism; specifically, it "contains an ingredient called capsaicin that stimulates saliva, stimulates digestion and accelerates your metabolism at a safer level."
The article goes on to state that green tea and seaweed have similar effects, but overall I personally think the most important statement in the article comes right at the beginning: "I don't have to tell you that there isn't such thing as a pill or remedy out there that will magically make the pounds melt away ..." The stuff's probably not going to have a huge effect without combining it with a healthy diet and exercise, but hey, at least it seems unlikely to hurt you and it -could- help ...

It does not speed up metabolism, but it does warm you up. Filling a capsule (you can get empty ones at a pharmacy) with cayenne pepper will actually raise your core temperature (and clear the sinuses when used in food).

I relatively have been dropping weight my finished existence with my heaviest being 360 lbs. I lost 19 lbs in 2 weeks. or maybe after dropping maximum of my weight on a typical starvation weight loss application and knee crippling exercising I knew this replaced into the respond. I relatively have never been under 25% BF. I relatively have never regarded as healthful as I do. I relatively have never had the arrogance that I relatively have now. I relatively have never felt as sturdy as i've got faith.
