where do you live? in the US, you don't need a parent's permission to attend college. Additionally, parents are not responsible for paying for college....it doesn't matter if you are 16 or 18 or whatever.

So yes, you can still go to college. Just be sure to get a scholarship and fill out a FAFSA so you can get grants (free money) and loans (money you have to pay back after school)

If you live in the UK then they can't stop you from going to college or getting a job, and even moving out. The only thing they can stop you doing is get married, but then you'd just have to wait a year.

i do no longer think of it relatively is ordinary, extraordinarily in recent times with all of us going that direction, yet I do think of you're lacking out on some very powerful existence studies via no longer being out on your individual. sturdy for you for doing an exchange application and getting that have. As for good now, in case you particularly desire to bypass out, they could't quit you (legally), yet once you do it against their will, do no longer anticipate economic help. they could be mad sufficient to no longer make it easier to out in case you choose it, which it sounds such as you do no longer. It does sound like they're being somewhat overprotective. this is coming from somebody whose mum and dad very nearly ran me down the line when I graduated from HS. i replaced into allowed to stay at residing house the summer season between HS and faculty if I labored finished time, which I did, and stored my money, which I did. After that, it replaced into "so long, sturdy success in existence, desire we raised you good, call us sometime!" My mum and dad did this to all of my brothers too.

You can still go but what I think they are telling you is that they will not pay for it! makes since, if you want to live out from under them why should they still have to pay for you?

No, they can't. If you're paying for it yourself. But if they are paying for your education, then, yes they can.
