another family member has commented that i am visiting one of the relatives a lot now that he is older, and that this must be purely because he has money to leave behind. i feel quite annoyed that such a nasty comment has been made. should i challenge the person who said it or let it go? i think the person who said it is feeling lonely + left out

don't say nothing just ignore them they are obviously bitter - let it lie unless they start with more comments

If you feel that you're doing the right thing then continue. Why should an elderly person miss out on some company because of anothers insecurities.? Could be the person who commented is trying to get any 'competition' to stop going. Wonder what they're visiting for anyway?
It's up to the person who has the money to decide who they feel deserves being treated in their will. It's their perspective of who has given them value in their life that counts. Anyone elses opinion is not worth a light!

Best form of defence is attack. So the person accusing you is probably the one looking to the inheritance
