It may not be fair but it is up to him which one he prefers - he won't choose you just because you think you like him more. I would just wait and see if he makes a move on either of you - if you push these things they usually end up with embarrassing situations you wish had never happened.

The way I see it it could be any of several things that happens: here are three for starters!!
1. He doesn't want either of you and goes of with someone else.
2. he chooses, not either of you, which of you he prefers and the loser gets miffed!
3. you decide to remain friends with your girl and both find 2 other guys who seem more genuinely interested in you.

i'd talk to your best friend first and tell her how u feel, is she was a proper friend she'd understand and back off. Don't go behind her back because no man is worth losing a friend over! good luck honey x

How do you know you love him more than your friend? And how do you know he reciprocates your feelings. I hate to tell you this, but chances are that he doesn't even particularly LIKE either one of you, and you can't decide which of you he is going to go out with. HE gets to decide this, not you!

how do you know you like him more?
you either decide to keep your mate and dont do anything with the guy
or
you fall out over him and lose your best friend whether you win or not
and you find out he doesnt like either of you.
