your baby has a very "new" digestive system. when my daughter was born we had to use soy milk then moved to similac allimentum ( the same idea as the enfamil )which might I add costs 25.99 per 12 oz can! it could get pricey! I would try nestle goodstart formula its very gentle on the tummy, have gas drops handy ( mylicon ) and learn the infant gas massage..it really works, they will toot almost the entire time you are giving the massage, adn ITS GREAT BONDING TIME, sing him/her a soft song, or just talk to him/her !!!
after a while your childs digestive sytem will learn how to handle the food...
just an FYI when you start solids in a couple of months DONT give the baby all the variety that is sold ie: veal meat, beef..etc... I thought it was ok since they sold it in her stage but when I gave her the harder to digest meats she had a horrible time completing a bowell movement...I tell you this in hopes that you dont make the same mistake!!! good luck!!!! and I hope this helps!

It's the Enfamil equivalent to Similac Alimentum...which my daughter is on. It really does work miracles for a gassy baby who is allergic to regular formula. My baby was horribly gassy and colicy for several weeks before our Dr. had us switch and boy was I relieved at what a difference it made. It was only a couple days and she was a completely different baby...smiley and happy :)
And for the person that person that suggested you try Goodstart...if your baby is truely allergic and intolerant of milk Goodstart will do you no good. We bought a huge can of it and it was the same as the other formulas we tried. Only Nutramigen and Alimentum are hypoallergenic and therefore only those will work.

It might, that was what our pediatrician first recommended we try when our daughter was having problems with painful gas. It didn't work for us however, after trying multiple different formulas our Dr finally told us she needed Similac Alimentum...it is a hypoallergenic lactose-free formula. That, combined with the Dr. Browns bottles has made a world of difference in our little girl. You really wouldn't know it was the same child!! Good luck to you and I hope your son gets some relief soon!
