Good question Brent! Calzaghe has a lot of heart, determination and good punching power and Wright is an amazing boxer with fast hands, great reflexes and mobility. I believe that Wright would box, box, and box some more against the hard punching Calzaghe in this classic boxer vs slugger matchup. I believe that Wright is one of the best fighters today and he wins a unanimous decision.

i think Calzaghe might throw the better volume of effectual punches against the shielding minded Winky Wright who seems to have slowed down a splash. Calzaghe via unanimous determination.

i'd love to see that fight.
winky just has some crazy "d".
i don't think all that fancy aggression and horse play that calzaghe likes to do will work for him against winky, if anything that opens up a lot of opportunity for winky to lands some blows.
i see a great match up, but with a slight edge with winky.

Id say Calzaghe beats Wright as hes naturally the bigger fighter and on a roll right now, but im probably biased myself as hes one of my favourite fighters. I wouldent say that hes scared to fight in the states though it just that untill he beat lacey there wasent much interest in him, as he fights a bit hot and cold at times especially against fighters hes expected to beat easily. Also the WBO belt isent the most prestigious belt out there and especially in america its seems to be considered a bit of a mickey mouse title. This would be a good fight to see though and a real 50/50 fight lets hope it happens

I say winky. and as a side note to brad m, baldimer outweighed mayweather by at least 13 lb the night of the fight.... Weight "advantage" is not always an advantage. Look at Roy Jones Jr. Vs John Ruiz...ect....

Calzaghe would win this.
168 - 154 = 14. That's why.

Calzaghe has been underestimated before. I'd put my money on him. He's not an extremely talented fighter but has the determination and heart of a lion. That counts for a lot. Those kinds of fighters can be scary to fight.
