I dated a woman as quickly as that had to transform for me..... I advised her this is something she needs to do for herself. a million situation i visit make it easier to realize from adventure, it relatively is the Rabbi's interest to purpose and discourage you from conversion (call it a attempt). there are greater than a number of sects of Judaism and what you need to understand is that the conversion technique is basically respecting via the sect which you have been switched over via. Orthodox conversion: Very confusing and a loooong technique. there is likewise an expectation to maintain it up after the conversion technique. Conservative: regarded down upon via the Orthodox ,because of the fact the term conservative immediately pertains to following fewer regulations of Judaism. An Orthodox Rabbi won't traditionally marry a conservative couple. the approach is way less stressful and reckoning on the Rabbi as long as you initiate observing you're a shoe in. Reform: nicely neither a conservative or Orthodox rabbi might marry a reform couple. this is the least confusing thank you to transform and the quickest. you need to ask your self the justifications in the back of your prefer to transform and how a lot and how related to you particularly desire to grow to be? we would say a individual such as you has a Jewish soul...i'm happy you're finding your self! Mazel tov ;-) @ J.T. What are you speaking approximately??? interior the Jewish faith if one is born to a Jewish mom than that toddler is a Jew. The jewish bloodline ends while a non-jewish female marries a non-jewish guy. Jews at the instant are not a those that sell conversion, its in our Torah "Bible" that we ought to turn a convert away 3 timess and if she comes back.....enable their journey to Judaism initiate. There are under 14 million jews interior the finished worldwide...we are sturdy sales human beings if we actually tried shall we've switched over billions via now ;)

It means that you have a Jewish heritage, not much else. True Judaism is something of the heart, spirit, and mind, not just a bloodline. It is really cool to look back and find out more about your roots, though. It makes history so much more interesting to read, when you can look back and say "This happened, and my grandfather/mother/whatever could have seen it all!"

My husband is part Russian/Polish. It gives him dark brown eyes and black/brown hair, but he still hates saurkraut and won't drink vodka. Your geneology is what you make of it!

You are only Jewish if you practice the religion, and as you don't.. even if your parents or grandparents believed and practiced the religion, you also need to believe and practice the religion to be Jewish. You can be born into a religion but that can all change and you only stay in that religion if you continue to practice and believe in it. You want to know more about god.. but there is two gods, the Christian god is mainly Jesus, but the Jewish god is Jehovah.. Jesus's Father. Jesus was also a Jew.

According to the Orthodox and Conservative perspectives you would not be Jewish unless it came through a female so g-grandfather wouldnt count. If your g-grandmother was also and had a daughter (your grandmother), and she had a daughter (your mother) then you would be according to them. According to Reform Judaism I believe you would be considered a Jew. They accept both the male and female lineage.

The Jewish faith is transmitted from mother to child. if you can verify if your mother's mother's mother was Jewish, than you are 100% Jewish.

I'd say you're lucky to have some of the blood of the chosen people in you. What you do with it is up to you, but personally, I'd be doing some serious research, if for no reason but historical. You may just have a very interesting family history, and it wouldn't hurt to seek out some spiritual info. on your ancestors too.
