You will probably have a local Golden Gloves tournament for both open and novice boxers, leading to a state or regional for the open division only with the winners going to the National Golden Gloves in Chattanooga, TN, April 30 through May 5. All 11 weight classes will be contested: 106, 112, 119, 125, 132, 141, 156, 165, 178, 201 & 201+. I would guess that your local tournament will probably be scheduled for March or April. Since the open division qualifies to advance to the U.S. Championships in June, you must be between the ages of 17 and 34, a U.S. citizen, with a minimum of 5 scored bouts in your passbook.
