A lot of it depends on what you're eating. Eat dinner at a reasonable hour, and eat modest meals and healthy snacks in between while keeping up an exercise routine.

Most dieticians say that eating 5 small meals per day is better than eating 3 large ones.

Don't starve yourself - just exercise and eat right. The weight won't come off overnight, but those small changes in your lifestyle will pay off in the long run. You'll be healthier, even if the weight doesn't immediately drop off.

Hi

Walking 2 miles a day is a good start and not eating after 6pm is OK too but if you eat more calories than you are burning off then you will never lose weight so with that in mind it will depend on what you eat during the day so you will still have to cut out the big mac's but one now and again won't hurt.

Maybe. It depends on if your walking is brisk (moderate to fast pace) or not, whether you are including hills (steep or gentle, long or short); and it depends if you have a fetish for all things fattening. If you do, then you need to walk hard- steep, long hills and briskly as possible. Plus do light weight training too. If you have sufficient caloric output, then you can eat whatever you want. but two things apply to what you asked: 1) drink lots of water, every day. 2) the walking is good, especially when you couple it with not eating past 6 pm. I am sure you'll lose some weight, it depends on how much you want to lose. and if nothing else, you gain muscle in your legs, which is always a good thing if you want to lose weight. A bicycle is more of a problem in terms of traffic and flat tires etc, but it is much easier on your joints which is a serious consideration as you age. Also, I have read a testimonial of a guy who ate what he wanted (he didn't alter his diet at all) but walked off 100 calories on his treadmill every day. He lost 60 pounds in 9 months. So that's one way of doing it. I would wager in his case he wasn't eating chocolate eclairs for breakfast though.... GOOD LUCK--- NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

It's unlikely. Walking two miles per day is great for your heart, but not actually helping much as far as weight loss goes. It's definitely better than nothing. If you really want to eat whatever you want (I'm assuming you mean foods that are bad for you), try cutting down the portions youre eating and eat more frequently. Try eating 5 times per day instead of of 3 and drink lots of water. Also, measure out what one serving is of whatever youre eating and eat only one serving at a time. Maybe replace 1/2 of your normal food with fruits and veggies so you still get to eat what you like.

Weight is a function of calories taken in versus calories out. Walking doesnt burn many calories unless youre walking quite briskly. Still, it wont make up for eating crappy food.

by eating what u want, does that mean, cookies, cakes, pies, candy bars, pretzels and chips, fried foods and ice cream? Do u also mean as much as u want? Honey, if u really want to lose weight, the walking is MARVELOUS! Keep it up! But, sorry, u must eat less of the above mentioned foods. Try raw fruits and veggies. Not as good, I know, but a guaranteed weight loss program! Wish u the best! I have lost weight this way, and it also stays off if u just moderate what u eat after u have lost the weight, but keep on walking! :)

you will lose weight if you aren't eating cake and candy throughout the day. Of course! I wouldn't take it to an extreme. Depending on your currnt weight, walking 1 mile 5 days a week, not eating late at night, and eating a sensible, healthy diet will provide you with GREAT results.

Don't overdo it. You have a good plan, just take care of yourself and don't push it by not eating or working out too much. It's worse for you than being overweight if you ask me.

No. You still have to control what you eat during the day if you want to lose weight. Small portions, 6 small meals a day instead of 3 big meals. And you can eat past 6pm----just NO CARBS after 5pm or it gets turned into sugar and stored as fat. So if you want to have a chicken breast and a serving of green veggies--you can have that after 5.

no. If by eating whatever you want means eating fast food and other unhealthy food then those 2 miles of walking aren't doing you any good. You might as well diet and not exercise at all. It would benifit you to job one of those miles and only eat half of those "whatever you want" foods. Only walking (unless you are doing a power walk that makes you sweat) wont do a whole lot either. I can walk more than 2 miles in my job and it doesn't really do anything because I don't break a sweat.

Be a kid yet again! When eating out, order some sort of child’s sandwich, pizza or cheese pizza. Then you can have the treats you're keen on, while reducing your portions and lowering your calorie intake.
