I've played 2 years of volleyball in middle school. Now I'm a sophmore in high school. I didn't try out this year or last year because I didn't know when was the tryouts. When I was a freshman, the tryouts were the first day and no freshmen knew about it and there were hardly no freshmen on the team. I didn't try out this year because it was over the summer and I had a summer job, so I also missed out on that opportunity. What I'm afraid is that if I tried out next year I wouldn't make it because I'm going to be a junior and varsity consists of juniors but I don't think I'm good for varsity and I don't know when the tryouts are. so i probably have to ask the coach when it is. should i step up to the plate with what i got or join a rec and improve my skills before next year arrives?

You should totally go for it. You will never know if you will make it if you don't tryout. And if you don't tryout and you are good enough to make it, you will have to live with the thought that you could have made it but you didn't tryout. You should still tryout and when you do, go out there and give it your all. And if for some reason they decide not to take you, DON'T GIVE UP!!!

That would be the best thing. You could play JV as a Junior and then might be moved up during the season to varsity. The most important thing is that you are dedicated to the sport and willing to leave your hart in the court. All it takes is hart but if you want to get into volleyball you will probably have to go during of-season to practice so that the coaches could start looking at how you play and help you improve.

Playing is always the best way to get better. I would definitely ask the coach and play as much as possible until then. If joining a rec league, just make sure you are playing with and against people who know how to play. Otherwise could be more frustrating than fun.

if you want to touch up on your volleyball skills join a club at your local community or some other one. practice wenever you can and don't give up if you are rusty at a sertain skill practice until you master it. keep trying. and if all goes well you might make the varsity team.

Dont beat your self up for it. only seem on the positives of what you probably did and seem forward to the subsequent interest. yet this time think of approximately what you probably did incorrect and attempt to astounding it, only dont bash your self. i replaced into at present this weekend in a wrestling meet. We have been down 4 factors and that i replaced into the 2d to final individual to strive against. If I win we get 3 factors and it would be as much as the final individual (he gained his tournament). I knew going into the tournament the youngster replaced right into a leg rider (much less costly wrestling tactic, virtually impossible to get out of it) and he replaced into extra useful than me. I pumped myself up for the tournament and that i felt super and constructive to furnish this guy a competent combat. I quickly replaced into down by potential of an astounding sort of things through fact of a takedown and one 5 count type lower back turn. i replaced into down by potential of a minimum of 7 and that i stored coming after the guy like an animal. He replaced into exhausted and that i replaced into additionally yet that didnt supply up me. I pushed the combat to the very end and tried for something super on the tip yet didnt finally end up getting it and that i misplaced the tournament. yet quite of thrashing myself over dropping the complete meet for us. I regarded on the positives the certainty that I wrestled stressful for 6 minutes and didnt supply up for one 2d made me proud even nonetheless he leg rode me the complete tournament that's quite stressful to get out of and that i ended up with a black eye after cuz of the intensity. I didnt beat myself up over it, I felt I wrestled properly and that i gave the youngster one hell of a combat and Im tremendously constructive he wouldnt desire to strive against me lower back. Thats the variety you recover from something like that only bounce lower back and seem on the positives and arranged your self for the subsequent time
