I have some short films that I downloaded that are mpeg files and I want to burn them onto a DVD. I have tried NERO and that doesnt work....It says its re-encoding and burning but then the disc is blank......anyone know a program to use or how to format these the way they need to be to burn em? Or what format they need to be in??????????????????????????????

what type of burn are you choosing to do. it should be data if thats not what you are doing. are you sure the dvd is in good condition? do you have another dvd to try to burn on? that way you can see if its the dvd or if you have another problem.

mpeg2 or mpeg4, probably.

If you are using Nero, you might try using the "Video CD" option.
It is a lot different than a DVD.
Uses a regular CD-R instead of a DVD+R.
More file formats are compatible with VCD.
And it will probably play on your current DVD player.

Sorry you're running into problems. I've found that a very good (but not free) program to do what you need to do is: "Sonic MyDVD". It's easy to use, and does its job quite well. It's available to read about and download at the below link. Good luck.
