Not sure what you're asking. Beating someone up is assault. It can be a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the severity of the beating, whether or not there were serious injuries, etc.
The person doing the beating goes to jail/prison upon being convicted.

Spousal Abuse, Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Assault/Battery, ... and so many more charges can be leveled here ... depending on the person's involved and the circumstances where the crime was committed.

Simple Assault-no weapons. Assault 2nd if weapon was involved. And Assault 1st . Domestic Assault if it was your mother , father , brother, sister, wife, girlfriend.

domestic violence if your in a relationship or assault and battery if you attempted to harm or actually physically harmed someone...they both are misdemeanors...
