Most mermaids do not go to the grocery store. Mermaids also do not eat any fish, they strictly eat shellfish or other crustiations. Some are very brave and eat jellyfish, but of course never on toast, as toasters are dangerous in undersea homes.
I think you need to revise you knowledge of mermaids.

If she had actually TRIED tuna, that would make her a cannibal ... or, in Lilo's words ... "An Abomination!" So, I'm guessing if you asked that question, you'd be smacked up side the head with a very large, scaley tail.
