I now have about 500 slides that I use with the Kodak Carousel and project them on a wall. Need alternatives and prices if possible.

Yes, you can, very easily.

A number of different manufacturers make scanner which can scan slides or negatives, saving them as digital image files.
Usually, there is a carrier in the lid of the scanner to take the transparencies and a back-light.
There are also special-purpose film scanners, though they may cost more.
I've got the week off, so I'm at home and can't check the prices, but, typically you'd the be looking at $100 - $300 (If you are in the US) for a basic one. Hewlett Packard, Canon and Epson are common brands.

Alternatively, if this is a one-time exercise, you might consider taking your slides to a reputable photo store, many of whom will scan them for you. At least get a price, you may find it's less than buying a scanner.

A studio takes pictures of the slides and converts them to digital on to a CD
