I have a girlfriend and I love her very much. We have been together for almost 4 years. There is also a girl at work. I have known her for over 5 years and have had a crush on her since the first day I met her. I am quite friendly with her, and always look forward to seeing her when I go to work in the morning. Is it common, or more to the point, is it ok that I feel this way about someone even though I have a serious girlfriend? I have never, and have absolutly no intention, of ever acting on these feelings.

There is no limit on love.

If you have 10 kids will you love any of them less. No, you just love them differently for their own independent and individuality

gf: girlfriend
It's common. When ur in a relationship for too long, it becomes somehow boring because U dont find any interesing thing about her and the relationship that can make u any more excited.
The situation is exactly the same to my friend's story and I know how exactly she felt. But the point is that how much she and her bf love each other is always stronger than ever. Being w. the girl or only beign able to see her daily makes work more enjoyable.
Be very careful when deciding to choose only one. If you risk losing yo gf to be w. that new girl ( with no warrantee U will be w that new girl), then maybe get to know as a friend first. It doesnt hurt to be friend w another woman when u already have a gf.
Having her as afriend like that sometimes is much better than haveing her as a girlfriend.
Im afraid you will be cheating if you're still w. yo gf and get to know that new girl as friend. U might change yo feeling at the same time (love 2).

I don't think it's common to be in love with two people, but it is possible if you allow it to happen. It could be this other girl has qualities your girlfriend lacks, and vice-versa. Perhaps you should find a girl that is both your girlfriend and co-worker rolled in to one? I have to ask though, if you've known the co-worker longer than you've been dating your girl, why didn't you date the co-worker first? Or did the feelings for the co-worker develop after you were committed to the girlfriend? Unfortunately, no one is ever 100% satisfied with what they have....until they don't have it any more.

I don't know how 'common' or uncommon this is, but I don't think it's by any stretch of the imagination a unique situation.

'Love' is a strange beast and most of us relate to the idea and theory of Love along particular lines of thought and behaviours. And the thought of loving more than one person at the same time is something of an anathema, it's abnormal ....though they wouldn't question loving two children at the same time, equally, of loving your partner whilst loving a parent or two at the same time.

Of course, these are different 'kinds' of Love, but then, whose to say just what 'Love is or means'! We have no way of universally labelling what we and others experience and call it with a name.

I once was deeply in love with someone and, the thought of 'Sex' with her seemed to be the last thing on my mind. I just loved her and loved the chats, the conversations, the being with her and looking at her.

It must have been 'Love' as it took me 8 years to really get over her.

Sash.

Of course it's ok to have these feelings. They are feelings, you can't really controle them, can you? But acting on the feelings might be wrong. And also letting your girlfriend know about them, that would only hurt her.
You get to have a relationship to a girl you love and still get to see a girl you like at work. If you can keep your fingers to yourself, that sounds like a good life to me...
Good luck! :)

yes its normal..you can never control your feelings..there are a lot of people out there in a relationship and feel something for some one else..im sure its normal..i have done..if you have no intention on taking it any further then there is no problem..but if you feel very strong about her and want to be with her then maybe you need to tell your girlfriend whats going on cause you could sort things out..or move on..good luck xx

I think that is the same as cheating on your girlfriend. You should sort out who you love the most and who you want to go out with, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Or else you would hurt your girlfriend even more.

I think your too confused. and what i mean by that is your in a love triangle here. I think that the girl you work with is the one you actually want to be with, but still have feelings for your girlfriend and dont want to let her go becuase you dont want to be alone. dont be afraid of being alone and if you love with girl at work then dont be with your girlfriend and be with the girl at work. trust me you will be happy with yourself.
