If you are an able bodied person of age, and you are ALL for the war, then pull out the Yellow Pages, find your local recruiting station, and go sign up.
The reason we have an all volunteer force is because you have to WANT to join. I have no use for people that are all for it, but sit on their computer all day talking about why they are for it, but yet, do nothing about it.

Its not a question of loyalty, its a question of honor. When someone volunteers for the military, they already show how their country means more to them than their own life (or sadly their own life means nothing to them, period). But those 2,000 people did not die to show they loved Bush or necessarily even agreed with the war, they fought and died to show that they value their family and country. Most military people I talk to don't come back and talk about the war or the President, they talk about their family, the game on Sunday, and so on. Each of those 2,000 men and women who died, and everyone who has suffered injuries or even the injury of witnessing a war first-hand, they deserve far more respect and help than we could ever give them, and the worst thing we could do is replace them with criminals who are not there for honor or valor, and the most disrespectful thing we can do is leave before the mission is completed so those 2,000 died for absolutely nothing. I tried getting in the military three times (my eyes were too much of a problem though) but I never cared about how long I would be in there for, where I would be sent, or if my name is remembered, all I cared about was the fact that I was willing to stand as a firm barrier between my country and anyone who wanted to harm its inhabitants. That is something criminals and mobsters wouldn't have honor enough to do, and truthfully it would be dishoring the military if you let "worthless" criminals do the fighting.

I would tend to agree with that but I remember hearing recently that they were finding that gang members were joining the military and when they would get out they were still gang members trained to kill by our tax dollars. They were saying they were becoming a much bigger threat. I think we need to be more aggressive and stop worrying about offending people. If we know a town in Iraq where the terrorists are hiding out put a road block around it they drop flyer's saying the town will be wiped out in 24 hours. Everybody get out. Then we bomb the hell out of them. The terrorists will either stay and die or be caught when being screened.

Your first mistake is thinking automatically that this is a war of good vs evil. All people should be treated as such, and America too often attacks without understanding or caring why they did evil acts. If we knew their grievances we might be able to better prevent terrorism that way. It might be easier to label them as evil but remember they are just like me and you, but face much different circumstances that we will never know. It might be hard to swallow but America is by far the biggest supporter of state terrorism, and yes i can back that up with sources if need be. Secondly you must remember that there are innocent people that these troops have to interact with in today's war. Having a bunch of misfits raping and torturing innocent people doesn't really do well for public relations.

First off, I'm against this war. That said, the troops fighting it signed up on their own, nobody drafted them. If you want to join Satan then you might as well expect to get burned by the fire. What your talking about is even worse than slavery. The majority of people in prison are not there for violent crime but drug offenses. So now you want to take non-violent offenders and have them murder people or die for a useless cause? Look, it sucks that Bush is wasting our military resources on this war but what you propose is crazy. Joining the military is a choice, just like becoming a cop is. Sometimes you get killed in the line of duty. It comes with the job. You dont like it, dont join. I know I wont.

Because of the amount of risk you are taking by putting inmates in a combat zone with weapons. Plus, do you really want to trust a serial killer or gang member to save your life in combat? They are already misfits of society, thus the military lifestyle would probably only cause them to become worse, as their intelligence level and amount of use as human beings is very low. I know. I work at a prison as a correctional officer. :)

oh - that's a great idea! Let all the prisoners free and let them run amok with guns and rifles and such. And when that doesn't work, lets round up all the disadvantaged, marginalized gang members and put weapons in their hands and wait for them to take orders and only shoot at who we tell them to.
I think you'd better take your Run Amok ideology back to the drawing board, sir.
