BT have cancelation policies which run in 3 month parts. After 3, 6, and 9 months the amount you have to pay to get out of the contract decreases anyway. And, after 9 months, you pay zero.

Don't cancel them, arrange to pay to full amount by direct debit when the bill is due(that way you pay no interest). Rotate the cards use a different one each month. Also arrange to have them request the money (from your account) within a week of you salary that way you know that there will be sufficient funds to pay the credit card bill. If you are really smart you will use the current card for all your shopping, in effect getting an interest free loan. The credit card companies hate it when you do that but there is nothing that they can do about it. The other advantage is that your credit rating soars, you are using credit but managing it sensibly. This little trick was taught to me by a bank manager.

It will only affect your contract if you dont pay the remainder of the contract and if you have signed a credit agreement. Always ask for a copy of your signed credit agreement as proof.

Depends on the reason.
If like my daughter its because it isnt working right (keeps shutting off) you can cancel it,because you are paying for a service your not getting.
If its just because you want to get rid of it,you will have to pay for the whole year, and if you dont it will affect your credit rating.

No, because you will have to pay up to the end of the contract anyway. If you refuse to pay it will be recorded as a default and *may* affect your rating.

I dont think it will, but you will have to pay the remaining line rental fees till the contract ends, in that case you may as well kep the line on.
