and if so, how do you treat the irritation. The Opthomologist said tear replacement drops would help (NO visine or "red out" drops) but both my eyes still hurt. They feel tired and dry. Any other suggestions?

there's really nothing you can do w/ a pinguecula. people who get it usually live in dry places..drops to hydrate the eye might help...if that patch start to go to iris and pupil, then go back to your doctor..thats called pterigium.
