ok no virus just ran a scan. this is what it says when it shuts down,'system has recovered from a serious error bc code:10000050 bcp1:D6D65A58. and C:|DOCUME~1|XP|LOCALS~1|TEMP|WERecb.8.dir00|Mini101506.01dmp as well, asC:|DOCUME~1|XP|LOCALS~1|TEMP|WERecb.8.dir00|sysdata.xml. I hope you can help me further with this info. thanks

Many things could be effecting that/ Virus, spyware, other software trying to be the default program. Depends what programs it is and when it does it. Is it something that you do then it all of a sudden shuts down?Or it just does it all by it self with you doing anything.

It is due to some virus...!? I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
I can also give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

You probably have a virus. Find a friend who works on computers so they can diagnose and fix this problem. It'll probably involve reinstalling your OS. Good luck!

You can try to kill it with Norton AntiVirus, or if you dont have that you can go to www.stopsign.com and get a free virus scan from them.
