Grab one of those strands growing from the top of your head and pull it out. It will hurt a little. That is a hair.

Hair is a protein called keratin, each hair is made of of 2 or 3 intertwined layers of keratin which grows from the follicle beneath the skin. hair grows everywhere on your body except lips, eye lids, palms of hand and the soles of the feet

Hair is keratin, which is a fibrous scleroprotein. It occurs in outer layer of skin and in tissues such as, hair, nails and hooves. Its natural colouration is white. Hair is not white for a long period of time, due to melanin, which is a natural pigment, that is produced by melanocytes.
