What a nice thing to do-I'd do it myself too if I could but I had a transfusion once so now they don't allow it-
If it wasn't for people like you I wouldn't be here.

Thank you.

I never got one but they do give you a blood donor card and when you have donated a certain number of pints they give you a different coloured donor card and possibly a certificate. I never got that far, I am not allowed to donate anymore as I have had a transfusion myself. Good Luck, it really makes you feel like you have made a bit of difference.

No matter where you go to donate, you get a pin or some other type of memento (whether you actually get to donate or not). They can also check your blood type if you don't already know it.

You get the certificate in the mail about a week later, along with a letter thanking you for donating. You'll also receive a card stating your name, blood type, and number of pints you've given.

Plus, with every eighth pint you give, you get another pin stating how many gallons you've given.

No certificate I'm afraid. Just tea, coffee or squash and biscuits! Sometimes you can get a colour-coded keyring for your blood group.
They do send you a card with your donor details on though, which you can use to give blood next time without giving all your details again. It's very rewarding to give blood regularly and you'll be able to tell people you've done it and show them the plaster!
Give yourself a pat on the back!

I received a donation card, T-shirt, a few cookies and some juice for my first donation. After my first and second gallons I received a nice glass that stated that I had donated 1 and 2 gallons. I am currently working on my third gallon. You can give once every 56 days so it takes more than a year to get to a gallon. Good luck!

No, sorry no certificate. You can pick up a sticker if you want and will also get a blood donor card sent to you with your blood type etc on it!

you don't get a certificate but if you give loads of blood over the years you get little tokens to say thanks- my dad got a tiepin with hearts on it and my boyfriend got a keyring with his blood group on last time he gave blood. I think its a really good thing to do and more people should give blood as supplies are really low. I keep missing out as when ytou have babies you can't do it for ages and \i had an operation recently as well

I always get offered sandwiches, tea, coffee etc after giving blood. I also got a keyring with my blood group on it.
No certificate though but you definitely get a card to say you have become a doner. I think I got mine through the post.

In the UK you get a badge when you done 25 pints I think. You get a card with your blood type on as well. You used to get certifcates but they stopped that a while ago.
Good on you for donating and good luck!

Yes well I got a card bit like a credit card, and then you get a badge, bronze, sliver, and Gold depending on how much you give over the years, of course you haven't said where you live, this is what happens in the UK

You don't get a certificate these days - but you will get a card (like a credit card) to keep in your wallet so that the ambulance people know not to leave you to bleed to death!
