Opthalmic means Eye. An Opthalmic Emergency is when you get a foriegn object in your eye, like an acid or anything that causes very bad irritation/pain/discomfort. You need to right away RINSE your eyes WITH PURE WATER IN THE SINK for 10-15 minutes.

Eye emergencies. There can be many different occurances that are eye emergencies, such as muscle spasms in the eyes, intense pain, sudden blindness, naseau, vommitting, headaches, pupils dilated and not retracting with light.
