I got back from Israel a year ago after studying there for 7 months. Being there i did not even once feel unsafe and i felt like I had the freedom a person should have. In my opinion, i think Israel is a great place and very cool holiday destination. I personally would not live there though only because it is too different from my lifestyle at present and because the weather gets way to hot and humid in summer. Other than that, I would visit Israel on a regular basis if it were possible! There are alot of great tourist spots and beaches there as well which I'm sure I do not have to mention as I'm sure you have heard about most of them (Western wall, dead see, Masada, etc). All in all, I'd recommend a trip to Israel if that's what you're contemplating. Have fun!

no, most of israel is very safe - believe it or not. Just that the media around the world highlihgts the problems but doesnt draw any attention to what ctual life is like there.
Also, bare in mind that most of the problems are in the West Bank, and steer clear of there - if you go there and hire a car, you definitely have to be careful where you go, they don't take kindly to westerners in places like qalqiliya and might have a tendency to set fire to you if you go there by msitake.

Israel is fine though - just stay out of the West Bank.

Israel is a great place to visit.

Go visit the Dead sea and surrounding
(Masada, Ein-Gedi...)

Jerusalem is amazing and so is Eilat

But as mentioned above, be careful on the road, people drive like lunatics!!!!

Enjoy!!!

no YOU ARE SAFER THERE THAN THE UNITED STATES. YOU ARE SOROUNDED BY SOLDIERS AND PEOPLE WHO LOOK AFTER YOU. THE COUNTRIES BIGGEST MONEY IS MADE ON TOURISM. EVEN WHEN YOU SEE THE BOMBING ON TV, ISRAEL, DOES NOT STOP. THEY ARE ISOLATED TO AREAS. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THOSE TYPE OF PLACES. MOST GUIDES DO NOT GO THERE. ALSO, THE TERROISM IS DOWN NOW, BUT MIGHT PICK UP AS HAMAS HAS STATED THAT THE CEASE FIRE HAS ENDED.

It is very safe--safer than any large American city. Unless you plan to go into Gaza--your safe.
The media only portays a tiny pat of what Israel is all about.

It is a wondferful life changing experience--I answered your other question--I think you will see there that we were safe and unhindered in our travel through out this land.

I would say spend your money on some where that either has cultural or entertainment attractions. Places like Greece, Italy, Egypt and Iran which have wonderful cultural sightseeings and at least your learn something from your trip.
I have been to all of those places and I can tell you I would go to visit them again in heart beat. My favorite places were Greece and Iran, both for their nice and kind people and just spectacular monuments and ancient cultural sites, along with beautiful beaches and natural sceneries.

Your biggest safety concern there will probably be highway driving. Folks there drive like maniacs.

i would advise you to think of somewhere else if its a holiday your planning because nowhere in the middle east at this time is attractive but it all depends how adventurous you are
