Based on an idea by Windthrop on how terrorists hide packages for others to find easily.
Long Term and Short Term hides. Long term hides are larger and taken from when needed and put into short term hides. These are easier to find.
Basically you need to look for reference points. The hider will want to guide to finder onto the hide with use of reference points such as trees, fence posts, and other non movable things that are fairly obvious.
Method: Choose a prominent start point, like a large tree, or gate. From that look for secondary points, fence posts, trees, corners of buildings. Search these areas, then use seconday points as bases and search other likely reference points.
Not a science, but an art methinks.
