Hey Christiana,
It is easy to mistype a name when you hear it. So, this would have been a logical mis-spelling, they sound the same.
When I looked up Bucksar in Ellis Island, it could not find any, but it did find:
Buckser 97%
Bockser 96%
Bukczar 95%
Buksar 95%
Bockszer 94%
Bocsar 94%
Bojczar 94%
Boksar 94%
Bucklar 94%
Buczar 94%
Bugsar 94%
Bukssar 94%
Bukzar 94%
When I put Bukszar into Ellis Island WOW, 75 surname hits. And 20 exact hits in Family Search for Bukszar, and 20 hits for Bucksar.
Looks like someone changed their name in this country for ease of spelling - americanization so to speak.
