Hi for the last week i keep waking up at between 3-5am and after that i am half awake and half sleeping. There is no reason i can think of for this. I have been going to bed for the same time for about a year that is 9:30pm and wake up at 7am. But just this week i've woke up between 3-5 for no reason. No one is awake, everything seemd normal in my room, it's still dark but still i keep waiting up at this time!! i can't think why though. Nothing has changed to my room or bed and nothing in my life has changed. What and why could this be??? Best and most detailed answer will get a 5 star best answer rating!! :))

It is possible that the first two times it happened it was only a coincedence. However, because you noticed it and it caused you some concern it is possible that you are actually programming yourself to wake up at this time now as you are trying to figure out what made it happen in the first place. I have done this before, usually my times get more and more exact the more it happens (like 4:10am or something, it's creepy!).

Judging on the time you go to sleep, you may actually be sleeping for too long, since 9:30 to 5 is 7.5 hours already! Some people only need 6 hours a night, while others need more. Your body may be trying to tell you something.

Try really tiring yourself out before you go to sleep, like exercising earlier in the day, drinking a hot tea (decaf of course) taking a warm bath and reading a dull book.

Best of luck to you~!

Well I think your having too much sleep in the first place. You only really need 8 hours. Your body clock only registers every four hours you sleep. So even though your sleeping for 10 you might as well have only 8.
Secondly I think you have woken up at that time originally and you probably thought about it. I can imagine you went around the next day thinking about it. It might be because it was not the "norm" for this to happen. You went to sleep the next night thinking about it and in your subconscious while you slept you body clock made you wake up at that time again. This will keep happening until you stop thinking about it.
Try spraying some lavender on your pillow, it might relax you and help you drift off without thinking you will wake up :-)

It is normal to suffer from periodic insomnia or sleep disturbance. What I recommend is you evaluate the things that are going on in your life currently. We sometimes don't think that something minor is causing us subconscious stress, but it does. Evaluate your diet too. Be sure not to eat heavy, greasy food before bed time, and avoid caffeine after lunch time. You can try taking warm baths with lavender salt aroma therapy to help relax and calm your body. Typically the symptoms with resolve in a few days. It would also benefit you to journal about your day in the evening, so anything on your mind is released. Tell your subconscious before you go to bed that what ever is troubling, its OK to work it out in your dream state to let go of it. Make sure that you don't have anything on in your bedroom that would interrupt your REM state of sleep. This would include bright alarm clock, television, night light, etc. I myself have a cool mist humidifier in my room only for the "white noise" effect it has. This should pass, it is nothing abnormal. Good luck, and peaceful dreams!

Possibly a myriad of reasons, most likely psychosomatic. Like, maybe you're expecting a promotion. Or some other upcoming event, like an exam. But I will say this: if you're into homoeopathic solutions whatsoever, Calms Forte works wonders. At least it did for me, as I was having the exact same problem a few years ago. Skip down to the chemist's and hopefully (if they're homoeopathically enlightened) they'll sort you out.

Something must've woke you up first time, now your body clock keeps waking you at the same time, happens to me sometimes, make sure you get extra tired, go to sleep later, read a book... Should go back to normal then...

Perhaps your body is adjusting to the seasonal change. I found this happened at the start of summer for me too. Aparantly if you eat or drink anything containing alot of b vitamins especially suppliments it can cause this.
Sometimes you can be stressed without realising it, its sub-concious and you could be holding a problem or emotion in that you need to resolve.

firstly you go to bed too early, try an hour later, secondly your body has not adjusted to the clock going back one hour. I normally get up at 8am, since the time change I waken at 7am, it takes a while to adjust.

Well, I really do think something has changed that you're not aware of. Either your diet has changed or you could be having a dream wake you up. You'll figure it out for yourself when you're ready to know.

Cheers!

its maybe because trying to figure this question out is driving you crazy enough to keep you awake. i woke up about 5-6 times in one night in school mornings because i watched Elfen Lied chapter one. the images stuck in my head and kept me up. plus taking horse tranquilizers helps, not that i take them. your still half asleep when you wake up because your eyes were used to being closed. hope that helps.
