I would leave it alone. The cat will keep it clean themselves. Anything you put on it, the cat will remove. If it gets worse or doesnt get better, Id take your cat to the vet.

Itll most likely get better on its own though.

You don't say if the cut is on the top, bottom, or where. If its very deep, you will want to take him to the vet for stitches and antibiotic shot. You can clean the cut with hydrogen peroxide, which is a good disinfectant for cleaning wounds, that doesn't sting. Cats do typically remove bandages, and when a cat needs bandaging and is going to feel well enough to try to remove the bandaging, a vet usually will put an Elizabethan collar on the cat, which is a collar that is very big and wide so that the cat cannot reach his body with his mouth. If the cut isn't deep, then clean it with peroxide 2 to 3 times a day, and put antibiotic ointment on it. Things like that, if they aren't deep, arent bleeding heavily, and don't get infected, usually will heal well with just using Peroxide and antibiotic ointment such as Triple Antibiotic which is available over the counter at almost any store.

My cat cut it's foot but I did not think it was broken - I took her to the vet and it was a fracture. She now has a club foot.

Take your cat to the vet just for a check over but do not try to wrap it up as the cat will want to clean the wound itself.

The best think to do is let him clean it and just keep and eye on it. if it gets infected take him to the vets, but cats are really good at cleaning thier own wounds. Our cat burned his back paw and we just left it alone, and he's fine. Now if your cat is bleeding alot and it won't stop say, in an hour its still bleeding, you should take him in. Good luck!!

Take him to the vet if you haven't and get it looked at, he can make sure it isn't broken or anything and can also give you some ways on how to wrap it if it needs to be.

a vet, it can get infected and you'll be investing more money than needed, DO NOT use over the counter creams and DO NOT wrap it with cotton bandages, they stick easier.

Do the responsible pet owner thing...take that kitty to a vet. It's the only appropriate thing to do.
